The Leaping Lions Foundation bridges the educational opportunity gap in Farato, Gambia, and beyond. We provide holistic support to underserved communities through infrastructure development, teacher empowerment, student sponsorship, and enrichment programming that celebrates academic excellence, athletic achievement, and cultural pride. Our work begins with early childhood education at the LBK Memorial Haste Foundation Nursery School and extends into comprehensive community development that ensures sustainable educational equity for generations to come.

The Beginning of a Legacy
The Leaping Lions Foundation emerged from a simple but powerful commitment: to ensure that children in Farato, Gambia have access to the same quality educational opportunities as children anywhere in the world. What began as support for a small nursery school serving 25 students has blossomed into a comprehensive educational transformation impacting
multiple schools, hundreds of children, families, and educators in Farato, Busumbala, and Yundum.
In 2022, Karamo and Desimber Rose Njie adopted the LBK Memorial Haste Foundation Nursery School in Faji Kunda, West Coast Region, Farato. Nestled in the center of the community, was this school founded by Philanthropist and Women's Rights Activist Aja Kassa Kanteh Sanneh. It was a small school with big hope and tremendous potential but limited resources, crumbling infrastructure, insufficient materials, and families struggling to afford even basic tuition costs. Yet, through the
years and in the midst of hardship her children did not give up on her vision, they kept the doors open.
Today, that same school operates at full capacity with 60 students in modern, fully renovated classrooms with proper lighting, flooring, and furnishings. Teacher salaries are guaranteed and tuition barriers have been eliminated with the establishment of The Leaping Lions Education Endowment through The Njie's Foundation. And the transformation continues!
